Lenny Lemur is a cartoon character created by Broadside Animation. Dating back to the mid 70s, Lenny was first introduced as a female character. This was later retconned.
Appearance[]
Lenny is a male ring-tailed lemur wearing some sort of safari-based outfit. It consists of a khaki jacket, with a green button up shirt beneath it. Underneath that is a white shirt, the neck of which bears a yellow (or sometimes golden) bowtie. He also wears a tan hat, matching shorts, and a belt with a golden buckle. Unlike most other mascots, Lenny has a long, fluffy tail, the end of which is sewn to the shoulder to keep it from dragging on the ground.
Personality[]
Lenny seems to be a bit on the more fun-loving side of things, having a strong passion for whatever professions a specific episode has him follow. Across all of them, he seems to be very determined, and has been caught nerding out about minerals, bones, and artifacts on several occasions. Despite typically filling in the role of an explorer, Lenny lacks survival instincts, often causing him to get hurt in comical ways.
History[]
Lenny Lemur was created by Broadside Animation, in 1975. His first few appearances were as an unnamed female lemur explorer who would occasionally be seen either in the background, or leading a tour as seen in Episode Safari. It wasn't until much later that Lenny was moved closer to the spotlight, appearing more frequently in episodes, and even starring in a small selection as the main character. As such, Lenny has met the main cast of characters, and considers most of them friends.
